
Psalm 102
A Prayer of the Afflicted
*No author's name is mentioned. We could call Psalm 102 an orphan Psalm.
*The psalmist poured out his heart before the Lord God. The psalmist is overwhelmed.
*In Psalm 102, the psalmist speaks for all the afflicted of all ages, who totally rely on the Lord for help.
*Psalm 102, is not clear on what the affliction was.
*The psalmist troubled mind, is soothed by him calling out to the Lord God.
*The psalmist relief came when he begins to focus on the Lord God.
*The psalmist faith was rooted in the Lord God.
*Psalm 102, could have been written at any time when great troubles came upon the people of Israel and the city of Jerusalem.
*Psalm 102 outline:

- The psalmist relief comes when he begins to focus on the Lord

*Prayer is us communicating to God.
*Job stayed in constant communication(prayer) to the Lord God. Daniel stayed in constant communication(prayer) to the Lord God. The bible tells us that Daniel prayed three times a day. Daniel was a man of prayer, who constantly stayed in a mind frame of prayer. Daniel never let anything stop him from praying.
*BEFORE: We need to pray at ALL times, which means we are to pray before circumstances come our way.
*DURING: We need to pray when things come upon us.
*AFTER: We need to pray after the situations have passed and we have come through them.
*PRAYER IS THE KEY!!!
